Winning Combos

Mother and Daughters - you know what they say..... and we've two amazing mother-daughter duo's who've been  putting their words into actions.

Meet Minnie and Clem - the first mother-daughter duo we've ever  had volunteering at Bluebells in March.  Clem was only 12, but SO committed to helping out and making a difference to others. Being her age meant that her mother Minnie had to come along too.  And they sure packed a punch into their short time there - from sorting books out into boxes for each class, to participating and helping with sports day and being that extra helping hand that the teachers needed.  Clem said she'd never seen children run so fast, in such heat and with NO SHOES - she found that inspirational.  And Minnie felt the palpable love from so many at the school and described her experience as one she'd never forget.

Determined to improve literacy levels - they planned and plotted to fund raise, and in May and June walked the Ridgeway - some 87 miles from Ivinghoe to Avebury.  Thank you Minnie.  Thank you Clem - superstars both....

Meantime, down here in Dorset ...

Meet Luli and Jemma - also plotting to fundraise.  Luli volunteered at Bluebells 2 years ago, and her younger sister goes out in October to do the same.... Luli and Jemma climbed the Three Welsh Peaks - waking at 0330 to climb Mount Snowdonia.  They then drove to climb Cadair Idris and then had another super early dawn start to complete Pen-Y-Fan in the fog and gales.  More Superstars in our midst.

The funds raised are going to help us build A LIBRARY - yahoooooooooooooooo !!

Plans are shaping up and we hope to start this build in the August holidays which are fast approaching.

Jemma has been working over time to collect books and books and more books - so if you have any more to off-load (primary, simple readers only please) - DO GET IN TOUCH.

Thank you is NOT a big enough word for these two very special mother - daughter duo's.  We so very grateful and indebted to all four.  Thank you ALL XXXX

As someone once said to me - 'Life doesn't come with a manual. It comes with a Mother....'  And what incredible examples these two very special mothers have set... BRAVO! XXXX
